Swimming Suits For Your Body Type

Swimming suit weather is here! Oh, no...I have to bear THIS body out in front of everyone? Don't fear, here are some ideas on what to wear for your body shape! You can look hot on the beach, no matter if you have those thighs, tummy or whatever...
Also, all these looks are for less so your wallet doesn't hurt this summer. ;)

Athletic (or no curves):

From Left To Right: Arizona Banded Halter Top and Boy short, $12.99 each from JcPenny; Polka Dot Skirted Bottom and Top, Top: $28 and Bottom: $34 from Victoria Secret

With an athletic shape you likely have a very toned body or don't have any curves. The boy shorts will further emphasize that toned body. Also you can exercise with them on the beach! The ruffle bottoms will create curves that you don't have.

Don't: Avoid solid swimsuits without pattern and detail. Stay away from swimsuits that don't have support and shape.

I need cleavage!!

From Left to Right: Maya Twist Bandeau Top and bottom, Top: $24 and Bottom: $16 from Victoria's Secret; Bisou Bisou Twist Halter and Hipster, $24 each from JcPenny.

Let's face it. You need some...cleavage. That's OK, you just need special bikini tops that will enhance those girls. Bandeau and any enhancer (such as bustier) tops will further enhance smaller chests.

Don't: Avoid bikini tops with too much fabric. Go for separate tops and bottoms.

Petite:

From Left to Right: Halter One Piece for $76 from Venus; Spring Floral Bikini Top and Bottom, Top: $10.80, Bottom: $9.80 from Forever21.

When you are petite (under 5'5) the last thing you want to appear is shorter. Look for small printed bikinis. When looking for a one piece look for ones that have high leg cuts. This will elongate the legs, therefore elongating you!

Don't: Avoid boy shorts, skirted bikinis, low leg cuts and anything that will draw the eye downward as this will shorten you.

Tummy Troubles...

From Left to Right: St. John's Bay Secretly Slender Surplice One Piece for $49.99 from JcPenny; Women's Mix and Match Halter Takini Tops and Bottoms, Top: $24.50 and Bottom: $17.50 from Old Navy

Some of us have a tummy that just won't budge. That is why clothing companies put shape wear right in your swimwear! The one up above would be perfect. Also tankini's are perfect for people with tummy troubles. ;)

Don't: Avoid itsy bitsy bikinis!

I need support!

From Left to Right: Liya push up halter top and bottom, top: $24 and bottom: $16 from Victoria's Secret; Full Cut Bra, top: $24 and bottom: $26 from Venus

Let me tell you, having a big chest myself the last thing you want, is your girls hanging out! Halter tops, under-wire cups or bra like bikini types will support your chest.

Don't: Avoid strapless bandeau top bikinis and tiny triangle tops with minimal coverage and support.

Plus Size:

From Left to Right: Longitude Tie Front Plus Swimdress for $69.99 from JcPenny; Women's Plus Size All Over Control Slender Gracian Swimsuit for $89.50 from LandsEnd.

Once being a plus size myself I know how frustrating swimming suit shopping is when your size 12 and above. I always found swim dresses were the most flattering. Any control swimwear will also do. Places that sell plus size swimwear for less : JcPenny, LandsEnd, Fashion Bug, Old Navy, and Macy's.

Don't: Avoid too much fabric. Modesty is certainly OK, but too much coverage is not. Stay away from white, neon fabrics and thick textured fabrics.

So, there you have it. The swimsuits that flatter your body shape!
