Pirate Shirt Fashion Trends For 2010

Pirate boots make an essential part of great pirate fashion clothing, which also include pirate shirts, coats, pants and skirts. Pirates, who were ruthless robbers during the renaissance or medieval era, had their own distinguishable style of dressing. Knee high leather boots, which also known as over-the-knee (OTK) shoes, varies in length reaching just over the knee to reaching slightly below the crotch. In ancient times, pirate boots were made of a variety of leathers.
Height of heels can vary ranging from flat to more than three inches, while heel styles can vary from metal-spikes to chunky. Pirates preferred to wear thigh-high boots with strong heels during their dangerous and long sea voyages. Thigh-high boots with strong heels were very helpful to pirates during dangerous acts such as battles. But in modern times, leather shoes are made of a variety of materials such as leather, vinyl and latex. Different kinds of fabrics, for instance polyester micro-fiber and silk, are also used to make pirate shoes. Now, pirate clothing become a symbol of fashion rather than a necessity of sea voyagers.
The coats and pants were often loose because pirates used to steal even cloths from sea travelers. Pants generally worn by English They were called breeches. Knitted caps, which were called Monmouth caps, gold hoops earrings, bracelets, chains, pins, pendants, Braids and ribbons were the other accessories used by pirates. Flamboyant the captains used to wear waistcoats, which were often worn by upper class. Their breeches were made of fine velvet. An elaborate satin and leather sash would run across pirate captain's coat. His clothing was often decorated with precious metals such as gold.
Pirate clothing is a part of renaissance or medieval clothing as used to dress themselves up with these over-the-knee boots and other clothing accessories during the renaissance or medieval era. There was a reason behind the way pirates preferred such ostentatious style of clothing. Actually, there clothing had to represent their status as ruthless robbers and the amount of wealth they accumulated by robbing other ships.

Guide to Your Perfect Pair of Jeans

A good pair of jeans can be one of the most fashionable and timeless items in your wardrobe but how do you decide which style works best for you?
We have done all the hard work for you so that all you need to focus on is looking good. Check out our perfect jeans guide!
Curvy
If you have a voluptuous figure it is important to invest in a pair of jeans in the correct size, not too baggy or tight. Go for something with a boot cut or slight flare, which will lengthen the leg. Front seams and distinct side stitching will also flatter. A darker wash will give a slimmer silhouette.
Apple shapes
Again, boot cut or flared jeans can help to give the impression of longer legs. You may also wish to try something in a lighter or faded wash and pocket flaps and detail at the back can add shape to your bottom.
Pear shapes
Wide, straight leg jeans are great for the pear shaped figure as they will help to balance out your curves. Again, darker washes and distinct side seam stitching will lengthen the leg.
Short legs
Stick to full length jeans, no cut offs! Stay clear of stretch material but crosshatch fabric skinny jeans can be flattering.
Short torso
Low-rise, slim-fit jeans will lengthen the torso. Steer clear of high waisted and baggy jeans.
Long torso
High-waisted jeans will balance out your proportions, giving your legs a lengthened appearance. Low-rise jeans are to be avoided.
Deciding on colour:
Blue jeans
Blue jeans are the classic denim item and right now you can wear them dark for smart casual and a defined silhouette, or distressed for a retro feel.
Black Jeans
The ultimate rock n roll look! Black jeans can look edgier than blue and they are flattering if you are trying to achieve slimmer lines.
White jeans
Here for the summer so why not? White jeans look best on slimmer girls and please make an effort to keep them as clean as possible to work that summer look.
Coloured jeans
A good current look, coloured jeans can still brighten up your wardrobe and your look during 2010. Avoid buying more than a pair or two as they will go out of fashion - probably as quickly as they came in.

Tao Okamoto & Liu Wen in Editorial for (US) W Magazine, July 2010

I rarely write commentaries about fashion editorials but I really have to say something about the recent development at W Magazine.

It is always exciting to see Asian models in editorial stories because they are usually more interesting than ad campaigns. But these photos below are an endemic example of the boring, lackluster stories that (US) W Magazine has been serving up for the last couple of years. I stopped my subscription to the magazine about 3 years ago when the magazine went downhill.

That said, change is in the air. All the senior editorial staff at W Magazine has been replaced (except Alex White) by Stefano Tonchi, formerly of T Magazine (NY Times Style Magazine), who took over the helm about two months ago. The first issue with Mr. Tonchi as editor-in-chief is expected to come out in August 2010. But the new W Magazine will be less fashion focus, more general issue like Vanity Fair and well, T Magazine. I don't know how I feel about it yet. Will leave my judgement until I see the August issue.
